Get Started with Preserving Your Family Story: Insights and Inspiration from the May 2025 Webinar
Discover how Remento helps families preserve life stories effortlessly through audio and video recordings, collaborative tools, and beautifully printed memory books.
During a recent webinar, Remento CEO Charlie Greene shared how Remento works, why it matters, what families are saying, and how to get started—whether you’re gifting it to a loved one or sharing your own story. Real customers joined the session to share their journeys with Remento. The session highlighted powerful customer experiences and introduced an additional photo feature that makes it even easier to bring family memories to life.
The Story Behind Remento’s Mission
The inspiration for Remento is deeply personal. When Co-founder and CEO Charlie Greene’s mother was diagnosed with cancer, he sat down to record her stories—hoping to preserve her voice for future generations. What began as a time capsule turned into a journey of discovery. Her stories revealed moments he had never heard before, including career achievements and the story of how she fell in love with his father.
That experience planted the seed for Remento’s mission: to make family storytelling simple and accessible, so no one has to wait for a diagnosis or milestone to start preserving what matters most.
In a world where smartphones are everywhere, and yet life stories often go unrecorded, Remento makes it easy to turn memories into a living legacy.
How Remento Helps Preserve Stories as Lasting Legacies
At the heart of Remento is the belief that everyone has a story to tell—and that capturing those stories shouldn’t be difficult, time-consuming, or intimidating. Whether you’re recording your own story or helping a loved one, Remento transforms the storytelling process into something simple, warm, and even fun.
The journey begins by choosing story prompts or uploading personal photos. These prompts are sent weekly to the storyteller via email or text, allowing them to respond through video or audio with a single tap. No downloads, passwords, or tech experience required.
Once a story is recorded, Remento automatically transcribes the content. Users can choose to keep it as-is, clean it up for readability, or transform it into a polished first-person or third-person narrative using Remento’s built-in AI writing tools. The entire process is customizable, and collaborators can help every step of the way—from selecting prompts to reviewing and editing stories.
The final result is a personalized hardcover memoir, complete with scannable QR codes that allow readers to hear or watch the original recordings. Families can organize stories by chronology, personalize the cover and layout, and preview the book before it goes to print.

New Feature: Add Multiple Photos to Every Story
Family stories are often layered and visual. That’s why Remento now supports the ability to add multiple photos to a single story.
In addition to a primary photo that introduces the story, storytellers can include supporting images that appear at the end of the chapter. You can reorder photos, add captions, and choose which image appears first—making your book more visual, emotional, and complete.
Whether it’s a wedding day, a military deployment, or a favorite vacation, more photos mean more opportunities to capture the full picture of a moment.
This update is now live in the platform and available for new and existing stories.
Preserving Fathers’ Stories Through Remento’s Storytelling Platform
During a powerful webinar, Remento customers Jackie and Symone shared deeply personal accounts of how the platform became a meaningful way to preserve their fathers’ voices and stories—especially in moments of crisis, illness, and healing.
Symone recalls how storytelling brought her father joy, even in his final days:
“Even when he couldn’t eat or move, he still lit up when telling a story.”
For Jackie, a writer and the daughter of a retired Army colonel, Remento became a vital storytelling tool after her father suffered two strokes. Writing had become difficult, but speaking was still possible. Using Remento’s prompts and Speech-to-Story™ technology, Jackie helped her father unlock childhood memories, reflections from his military service, and vivid, detailed stories that might have otherwise been lost—all without requiring any writing.
Jackie explains why the platform was so impactful for her father:
“He couldn’t write anymore, but he could speak—and that made all the difference.”
As they worked through prompts together, Jackie was surprised by the intimate, specific moments her father recalled—like moving to Italy as a child, the feel of linoleum boat floors, or the way his sister’s glass bottle shattered on deck. These were not just facts, but textures of a life now preserved.
Jackie reflects on how Remento unearthed long-forgotten details:
“We’re doing it chronologically now... and just details like that, you would never be able to keep unless you sat somebody down.”
Symone’s journey with Remento began as a thoughtful gift to her father to document his vibrant past in music and travel. Weeks later, he was diagnosed with stage four liver cancer. The urgency transformed the project into something far deeper: a way to preserve joy in the face of loss. Even in his final days, storytelling brought him visible happiness.
Symone remembers acting on a gut feeling before it was too late:
“I had this feeling—I just knew I had to get it for him. And I’m so glad I did.”
The stories Symone captured became the foundation for his Celebration of Life. They offered clarity and comfort at a time when many details of his life might have gone unspoken. They also allowed her to connect with parts of her father she hadn’t fully understood before.
Symone reflects on what she learned about her father through his stories:
“Through this journey, I learned a lot about my dad that allowed me to give him more grace for the decisions he made.”
For both Jackie and Symone, Remento was more than a tool—it was a bridge across generations. Jackie became what she called the “curator of her father’s memoir,” blending his voice with gentle editing to shape a legacy. Symone found strength and solace in hearing her father’s laughter again through video stories and hopes to share that joy with future generations.
Jackie describes the emotional impact of preserving her father on video:
“The video is your loved one and all their little nuances... I missed that with my mom. But now I’ll always have this for my dad.”
These experiences reflect the essence of what Remento offers: a way to reflect, connect, and preserve stories that matter—not just in words, but in voice, personality, and presence. Whether used during moments of joy or times of grief, it ensures that stories live on, beautifully and powerfully told.
Symone encourages others to take the leap and not wait:
“Every misconception is just one that you've created in your head. Why not try it? You can always delete it—but if you don’t try, you might miss the opportunity.”
Remento is more than a platform—it's a gift of time, memory, and connection. As Jackie and Symone so powerfully show, the stories we capture today can become lifelines for tomorrow. Whether honoring a life already lived or preserving one still unfolding, every voice deserves to be heard, and every memory deserves a place to live on. With Remento, those voices won’t be lost—they’ll be lovingly remembered, beautifully shared, and forever part of the family story.
