Today

30,000+ storytellers and counting

We’re humbled to have helped thousands of families preserve the memories and stories that define their family history. These reflections inspire us each day, and compel us to continue in our journey to help families around the world reimagine the documentation and preservation of the moments that matter most.

Why we built Remento

Why we built Remento

In 2017, my world shifted when my mom was diagnosed with cancer. Suddenly, I felt a deep urgency to preserve her voice and memories — for myself, for my future kids. I bought her a "write-your-own-memoir" book, thinking it would be a beautiful project. But she never touched it. "Writing feels like homework," she said.

So I tried something different. I sat down, hit record, and we started talking. I asked questions about her childhood, her first job, and her favorite memories. It was magical — hearing her laugh, seeing her stories in print. But the process of collecting those stories and transforming them into something tangible was tedious.

I thought to myself, there had to be a better way.

With Remento, we’ve built the easiest way ever created to preserve the memories and stories of your family; a life story book that completely writes itself, plus includes the voices of the book’s storyteller.

That’s because we believe that every person has a story worth sharing.

My mom's voice is still with me, and it means everything. With Remento, now you can hold onto those moments too.

Our Team's Stories

Our inspiration for collecting the stories of others comes from our own family history.

On my second birthday, my mom, who always goes all out, made me an amazing panda cake. Instead of cutting neat slices like most parents would, she put the whole cake on the floor and let me and my friends dig in with our hands. Yes, we made a huge mess! But that special moment – fingers sticky with frosting and faces covered in chocolate – is a memory I'll treasure forever.

My Dad was very enthusiastic and playful, and I can see my excitement to take my first steps toward him in our beloved family home. We recently lost this home in a hurricane, so going through old photos has been a real treasure to remember all the milestones - big and small - that happened there.
Rachel Rutherford, Product
A cherished memory from my first trip to Legoland with my family. This was the day I bravely rode a dragon rollercoaster for the first time with my dad, sporting my favorite yellow raincoat.
Connie Nguy, Design
This is the last picture of me with my Mom. She died a year later unexpectedly. I absolutely cherish this photo. My Mom was always my biggest cheerleader and my guiding light. Everything I am today is because of this beautiful woman.

On my fourth birthday, the cakemaker didn’t believe my name was Happy, so the cake was late. I was in full toddler tantrum mode when it arrived, still in the box with the lid off. Mom just said, “close enough,” and had me blow out the candles like it was totally normal.
